Kindle Books

I recently received a Kindle as a gift.  At the end of the day it's a great gadget that has grown on me more with each book I read.  I do have a beef, however it's not with the Kindle.  My beef is with the free books in the Kindle store.  I've not done any hardcore research on this issue but from what I've seen it appears that half of all the books available for free are Christian writings.  I'm not against these books at all, in fact I'm glad they are choosing to spread their message for free.  My major problem is with all the New Atheist authors out there.  You guys need to take a lesson from the Christians and offer up some of your books at free or reduced costs.  Come on guys, think about it.  If you really want to spread the message Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens, you need to get your message out there more.  To do that sometimes you gotta give the people a taste.  For example, Sam Harris' new book The Moral Landscape is a full $12.99 in the Kindle format.  Come on Sam!  Get with your publishers and get that out for much less.  If your message is really important you should do whatever you can to make sure it's heard.  Remember buddy, there are Bibles available for free everywhere you look.  The Kindle version of The Holy Bible can be had for as little as $.99.  How can expect to compete with a message that is practically being given away if you're going to charge me $12 more?  But then again I'm probably just out of my element.
