People in the U.S. are always bragging about how important their right to vote is. I don't know about that anymore. Is it really a privilege to go somewhere and pick between two equally shitty candidates that share the exact same beliefs on everything of consequence. At the end of the day they are divided on all of the common sense shit that is no business of the government at all. Do I really care if you are for or against gay marriage? Not really because at the end of the day it's none of your business who marries whom. Do I really care if you are for or against abortion? Nope, not at all. You know why? Because again it's none of your freaking business as a politician. Do I really care that you are Pro-Gun Mr. Republican? Not a damn bit, it's already in the fucking Constitution you idiots. You can have a gun and there's nothing the government can do about it no matter how stupid you are with it. Do I really care that you are a big fan of Green energy Mr. Democrat? No, not at all. Once you get into office you'll not change one damn thing because Big Oil has way too much money they can use to fill your pockets with.

I'll of course be voting anyway. Why? Because at the end of the day it's painless, and it's fun to look around at all the people who actually think it matters whether they vote Democrat or Republican.

Kindle Books

I recently received a Kindle as a gift. At the end of the day it's a great gadget that has grown on me more with each book I read. I do have a beef, however it's not with the Kindle. My beef is with the free books in the Kindle store. I've not done any hardcore research on this issue but from what I've seen it appears that half of all the books available for free are Christian writings. I'm not against these books at all, in fact I'm glad they are choosing to spread their message for free. My major problem is with all the New Atheist authors out there. You guys need to take a lesson from the Christians and offer up some of your books at free or reduced costs. Come on guys, think about it. If you really want to spread the message Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens, you need to get your message out there more. To do that sometimes you gotta give the people a taste. For example, Sam Harris' new book The Moral Landscape is a full $12.99 in the Kindle format. Come on Sam! Get with your publishers and get that out for much less. If your message is really important you should do whatever you can to make sure it's heard. Remember buddy, there are Bibles available for free everywhere you look. The Kindle version of The Holy Bible can be had for as little as $.99. How can expect to compete with a message that is practically being given away if you're going to charge me $12 more? But then again I'm probably just out of my element.
